Health Awareness and Research Day: A Key Event for the Wellbeing of Our Community

Attention, entrepreneurial community! At L A United, we care deeply about the wellbeing of our community and understand the importance of having access to accurate information and healthcare experts. That’s why, in collaboration with the Imperial NIHR Patient Experience Research Centre (PERC) in London, we’ve organised an exclusive and informative event focused on key health topics relevant to our community.

This event will feature renowned speakers specialising in various health areas, including Dr Parizad Avari, whose work focuses on diabetes and the use of innovative technologies for its prevention and management — particularly among high-risk groups such as young adults, hospitalised patients, and individuals with kidney failure.

Dr Sarah Verhemel is a distinguished cardiology researcher and currently serves as a Cardiology Research Fellow at Imperial College London. Her work is dedicated to cardiovascular research, contributing to groundbreaking studies aimed at improving healthcare outcomes for patients with heart disease. Additionally, Dr Verhemel serves as the Regional Representative for Women in Cardiology (WIC), highlighting her commitment to promoting gender diversity in the field of cardiology and encouraging female leadership in cardiovascular medicine.

Her experience and expertise make her a leading voice in the development of strategies for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, championing a research- and innovation-led approach to improving heart health.
